With four groundbreaking festival editions to our roster, sweeping 31 towns across 18 states of India,
we are proud to take our vision of catalysing climate action in India through sheer emotive power of cinema,
a step further with the introduction of the ‘ALT EFF Film Club’.

COMMUNITY

When people from diverse backgrounds come together, ideas take seed, thoughts are exchanged, world views get challenged, and a community takes form. Our Film Club is poised to coalesce people around a shared appreciation of impact cinema, creating ripples of environmental consciousness and lasting connections.

CINEMA

Our Film Club curation will take its members on a trail of cutting-edge, bold, and evocative films that envision possible climate futures. You will witness the power of different narrative techniques in stimulating our collective imaginations to see our environment through the prism of all living things.

CONVERSATION

ALT EFF Film Club is a space for learning (and unlearning), unwinding, and developing a unique understanding of our relationship with all living things. Immerse yourself in lively interactions with filmmakers and voices of change after screenings, feel free to ideate, debate and deliberate.

OCTOBER

OCTOBER

ALL THAT BREATHES

In one of the world's most populated cities, cows, rats, monkeys, frogs, and hogs jostle cheek-by-jowl with people. Here, two brothers fall in love with a bird - the black kite. From their makeshift bird hospital in their tiny basement, the "kite brothers" care for thousands of these mesmeric creatures that drop daily from New Delhi's smog-choked skies. As environmental toxicity and civil unrest escalate, the relationship between this Muslim family and the neglected kite forms a poetic chronicle of the city's collapsing ecology and rising social tensions.
